We will do the first page (p.3) together. After that, please follow this pattern: Silent read the entire story (or page-by-page, whichever you prefer). Define the vocab words in the margins. Read the prompts for the questions. Re-read the sections of the story to answer those questions. Be sure to complete all parts of the questions. Once you have finished the “close read” of this story, you will then DRAFT an answer to the short response question on page 8. Complete your DRAFT on the RACES graphic organizer worksheet once you are finished with the story. After completing the RACES graphic organizer, REVISE and then RE-WRITE that response in your workbook on page 8. Take pictures of each page in the close reader when you are finished and submit it to Canvas Turn in RACES graphic organizer to blue wire tray My.hrw.com – online book
