Damaging Effects of Social media
Social media has many major effects on the youth of today. One of the major problems of social media is the way it makes us compare our lives to others’. We are constantly seeing everyone’s lives in an idealized way of what’s happening. We see a post of something that appears to be perfect and compare our scrambled, out of control lives to theirs. optimism word.docx

Damaging Effects of Social media
Media can make us feel like we aren’t good enough. We are always comparing ourselves with the lives of those around us. A lot of kids growing up feel the pressures of being good enough and being wanted. It can cause a lot of discouragement to teenagers and lower their self-esteem.

“Lord of the rings” One quote that has helped me throughout my life is from Lord of the Rings. Frodo, “I wish none of this had happened.” Gandalf, “So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All you have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to you.”

“I am the Light of the world” –John 8:12
Christ is the Light of the world. Let Him calm the storms of life.

Hall of fame A song called “Hall of Fame” by The Script. This song made me realize that I need to be my own person and that I have to make an impression on the world that will leave behind a legacy. This song inspired me to not compare myself to others but to be my own person.

Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. By William Ernest Henley We choose our own fate. We can’t let people choose what we do with our lives.
