1 Ephesians 1:7-8

2 Ephesians 1:7-8 (NIV) In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

4 “The fundamental idea of redemption is the setting free of a thing or a person that has come to belong to another.”

5 Redemption was not cheap. The cost was as high as it gets.
What was the cost of redemption? Paul said, “We have redemption through His blood…. . .” R Redemption was not cheap. The cost was as high as it gets.

6 When I choose to go against this plan and live in sin, I am choosing to live as if His death on the cross never happened; as if it has no meaning; as if it deserves no consideration; and as if His bleeding and dying for me does not matter.

8 The noun “forgiveness” (Gk
The noun “forgiveness” (Gk.: aphesis) comes from a verb which means “to send away, to bid to depart.” God sends our sins away. They no longer stand between us and God.
