1. HSE LEARNING INCIDENT: ROOT CAUSES: LEARNINGS:
Three rig employees decided to commute to the interior for their rotation by private car instead of using the company bus. It was the 14th day of Ramadhan, in the early afternoon when a pick up truck coming the other way drifted into their lane hitting them head on and killed all three – one was aged 17 years, the driver was 23.
ROOT CAUSES: -
LEARNINGS:
Since December 2007, twenty four of our colleagues have lost their lives privately commuting .
Driving by bus might be slower but it is much safer.
Oman’s public fatal accident rate is increasing rapidly so keep safe by travelling in a bus

Always commute to worksite by bus instead of using your own private vehicles
