Requesting Help while using the PPSEE

2. Login to the PPSEE by entering your User Name and Password
Login to the PPSEE by entering your User Name and Password. Then click “Continue”

3. Before we learn how to ask the PPSEE for help, select “Open Folder” from the People menu, and open a consumer’s folder.

4. When we press the F1 key, the PPSEE brings up a help screen
When we press the F1 key, the PPSEE brings up a help screen. If we have just entered a consumers folder, the help screen it shows is this one, offering general help.

5. If we open the “Key Information” screen, and then press F1 to request help, we are given help about the Key Information screen.

6. The second tab on the left side of the screen is the Index Tab
The second tab on the left side of the screen is the Index Tab.When you click it, you are offered an index of help topics. All of the different help screens can be accessed this way.

7. The third tab is the Search Tab
The third tab is the Search Tab. You can use this to search for a specific screen.

8. The most common way of requesting help is to simply press the F1 key
The most common way of requesting help is to simply press the F1 key. This says “I want help with what I am trying to do”. The PPSEE will bring up the help screen that matches the screen that you are in.

9. If you are in the “Methods and Results” screen and you press F1 . . .

10. . . . you are offered the Methods and Results help screen.

11. Let’s try that again . . . This time we’ll ask for help about running a report.

If you wish to choose your own Help Screen, click the index tab for the index
If you wish to search for help on a certain topic, click the search tab and enter the key word
