The Springboard was developed by the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3). HC3’s Mission: To strengthen country-based capacity to take the lead in state-of-the-art social and behavior change communication programming

The rationale for Springboard
SBCC is an important discipline in development Communication is always relegated to the bottom on the health development priority list There is a science and art behind SBCC SBCC practitioners can only be taken serious if their work is backed by science/theory and evaluate what was done. The art is creativity and imagination to reach the audience through Coming together as practitioners will result in positive peer review, learning from each other, providing friendly criticism and support when needed. This will lead to better quality outputs in our industry

What is Springboard? Springboard is an interactive community for
health communication professionals Springboard is much more than an online resource – Springboard for health communication professionals is both a face-to-face and virtual community. Participants can join the virtual web site to stay up-to-date on health communication news, network with other professionals, share resources, and much more. The face-to-face events will provide participants a forum in which to share health communication best practices and experiences.

By going to you can easily register and join our over 3,916 members from all over the world. Once you’ve registered, you can post updates and questions, add and look up events, look for job opportunities, fill out your online profile, and much more!

Jump into the global activity
Once you’re on the site, you can start posting updates and asking questions right away. You can also reply to other people’s comments, like posts, or share on other social media networks. Springboard links members to content: you can read about the latest and greatest in health communication as well as blog posts and other resources from health communication sites.

Let people know who you are
The more information you can fill out about yourself the better! Upload a thumbnail picture of yourself, tell others about your organization and your interests to network on Springboard. A complete profile always gets more views than incomplete ones. And adding a profile picture is always a good idea!

Network with others Check out other member’s profiles and connect with them. You can even send private message to other members if you have a specific question. You can find members by organization and country.

Join groups and explore topics
You can also join a group on a specific topic area. These groups are meant to allow you to have deeper conversations on topics you are interested in. We have a variety of groups already created on topics such as monitoring and evaluation, family planning, malaria, and even regional groups based out of Bangladesh, Ethiopia and more. If you don’t see a group you are interested in, go ahead and create one! Once approved, you can invite other members to join your group as well.

Country Spaces Your country page is the location from where you can take part in various online activities. Visit other country spaces to learn their activities/discussions, connect with members and share your experience on SBCC.

Participate in themed discussions
Join us every two weeks for a different themed discussion. You can connect with experts as they host discussions around various topics such as: ebola, geographic information systems, HIV, and more. Look out for topics you are interested in, or if you would like to host a discussion, let us know.

Share or find out about events
You can also see what sorts of SBCC events are coming up or add your own events to the calendar for others to register. In addition to posting your event, you can manage your event right from Springboard. Add in a description, location, time of your event. You can even add in links for more information or to register.

Post or find a job You can look for a job opening on the jobs page or post your organization’s available job opportunity.

Springboard Directory
This directory has been used by a lot of our members. You can register your organization, or any vendors that you work for. In addition, you can look through the directory to find an organization with similar interests or one that you would like to make your partner.

Springboard Member Spotlights
Springboard highlights members periodically in member spotlights page to acknowledge their contributions to the site. You can also contribute and become a spotlighted member.

Springboard Secretariat Page
The secretariat page is the mouthpiece of the secretariat. It is the space where members interphase with the secretariat. The secretariat gets its presence and role to play by this page.
