1 A Citizens’ Dialogue on Right to Education – Accelerating Implementation of 25 A for Sustainable Development Hosted by : Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA): Right to Education program At: Margalla Hotel –Islamabad Date: 27th December 2018

2 Objectives of the Citizens’ Dialogues
Explore jointly with parliamentarians, decision makers and influencers mechanisms for accelerating implementation of 25 A and SDG 4. Share data from school report cards as citizen tracking mechanism at local levels on service delivery Review RTE /25 A acts on what is promised and what may have been left out? Create forceful awareness building on 25 A and SDGs 2030/SDG 4 for rapidly reducing OOSC (especially girls/excluded groups) in Pakistan through quality education as a fundamental right without discrimination

3 Right to Education –Campaign Program’s Areas of Focus
I. The RTE campaign ensures a citizen led demand side articulation for provisions of access, quality and equity as reflected in Article 25-A and SDG 4 (4.1, 4.2, 4.7 and 4.a) holding the system accountable through local evidence based dialogues of local stakeholders with the state, policymakers, –to fulfill their responsibility for provision of Quality Education to ALL citizens. - Undertake effective dissemination of key issues reflected in ASER/ Education metrics (2016)eg. on inequality gender, quality of education/learning, disability and financing of education. - Build capacity and mobilize youth to engage with teacher union /alliance networks, parents and media through creative leadership – communication for sharper analyses and articulation of Right to Education/Article 25-A in KP (Swat) & Sindh (Sukkur) II. Capacity building, mobilization and development of strong networks for implementation of right to education in selected districts, and effective implementation of article 25-A in communities through youth, and social media and bold communication for RTE through 4 workshops annually. III. Encourage and train youth, especially EYAs /young teachers on Inclusive Education and Future of Global Education

4 25 A Right to Education and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)
Article 25A. The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such manner as may be determined by law.  SDG 4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
