ESTABLISHING OF “SOČA RIVER FOUNDATION”
Trap Project, is one of the three river management projects in which Soča Valley Development Centre (PRC) is cooperating and are forming the cluster that serve as a platform for common river management issues on Soča River.
The main aim of activities is the institutionalization of stakeholder cooperation in the framework of the Soča River Foundation, a body that gathers stakeholders from the river basin with the purpose of enabling sustainable development of the Soča River.

WHAT? Organized and institutionalized body of cooperation of different stakeholders which has same goals and aims
WHY? Separate stakeholders with disperse ideas / wishes / needs/ responsibilities. Need for common management of river and its resources.
HOW? Legal aspect of foundation is suitable for the needs of current situation  non profitable, applicable funds for the purposes of common goals
WHO? Anybody! Who shows interest or wishes to support activities. Foundations represents the backbone of the cooperation of stakeholders.
FINANCING? Does not depend on public funds and is though (politically) independent. Can get founds from donations and can apply for new project.

There is a need for a formal stakeholders’ body on Soča River to combine different development and conservation issues
Establishing is a time consuming process that needs continuation of resources: personal and finances.
Bottom-up is an urgent approach when dealing on river management, however top-down should not be put aside
Need for motivated individuals that are capable of thinking “outside the box”
Need for wide specter of knowledge
Living together, sharing the same space, respecting each other. Soča catchment – one river, one ecosystem.
