The paper presents the results of the first stage of the work on project of the Grant aggreement № “Tests on the European Socio-economic Classification”, prepared by experts team from the NSI and Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Bulgaria. ISCO Workshop EUROSTAT 28 November 2008

NCO and NCOD National Classification of Occupations (NCO ) - based on ISCO 88 and if there are some differences, which reflect the national traditions in the governance of the labour market or in professional training and education; National Classification of Occupations and Duties 2005 (NCOD-2005) - consists classification levels of ISCO 88, but also additional national level to present the concrete duties (jobs); ISCO Workshop EUROSTAT 28 November 2008

Elaboration and implementation of the ISCO 08 – basic conclusions
Implementation of the revised NCOD, based on ISCO-08 National classification should apply strongly the principles of ISCO-08 The explanatory notes of the national classification and in the list of duties related to one unit group of occupations should be clarified and to reflect the national peculiarities (If they exist) Elaboration of the ISCO-08 for the EC Definition of the principles how to treat the civil servants Clear definition concerning the selfemployed and their role as managers or as producers (what is the priority) ISCO Workshop EUROSTAT 28 November 2008
