Solution: A pentagon has 5 sides. So you have to multiply 5 × 3 in = 15 in
Example: Find the perimeter of a regular hexagon with each side measuring 8 cm.

5. To find the area of a rectangle or a square…
You must multiply
the length by the width.
The formula is: A = L × W; where A is the area, L is the length, and W is the width.
Example:
A rectangle has a length of 8 centimeters and a width of 3 centimeters. Find the area.
Solution: A = L x W
A = 8 cm × 3 cm
A = 24 cm2
