Start your background Provide a few bullet points covering information the audience needs to know about the history of your topic. Don’t forget you are introducing your topic as if you are talking to aliens that have no prior knowledge on this topic!

Now it’s time for your FIRST ASSERTION (A1)
Remember to be PERSUASIVE! Enter your first argument (Assertion) Include your evidence with a parenthetical citation. Present your persuasive commentary aloud to the class. It should not be on your slides. (You may have notes.) To make your point stronger, find a picture that illustrates your point. You must cite your picture. Pictures can come in many forms. They can be images, charts, graphs…etc.

Continue your FIRST ASSERTION by providing more evidence (More A1).
Continue your first argument (Assertion) Provide another piece of evidence with an in-text citation (Proof) Verbally explain how the additional evidence supports your assertion. Present your persuasive commentary aloud to the class. It should not be on your slides. (You may have notes.) PICTURES ALWAYS HELP VISUAL LEARNERS!

Now you will begin your SECOND ASSERTION (A2)!

And Remember…. You are responsible for the information. If your visual presentation is limited in information you will still need to verbally explain the details to the class. You must be prepared to answer questions from the class. You must cite every source used even pictures. Remember to take your time and find the most relevant and important facts that you can find to support your argument. Pretend like the fate of mankind rests on the power of your presentation… Items like images, charts and graphs, news paper clippings, video clips and other media sources will all help to make your presentation more professional and more powerful.
