3. Where does water go?
When water falls to Earth, some water soaks into the ground becoming part of groundwater.
Gravity causes some of it to flow downhill as surface water instead of soaking into the ground.
This is called runoff.

4. What is a watershed? What is A Watershed?
A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that is under it or drains off of it goes into the same place.
It includes all bodies of water (streams, lakes, ponds, swamps, etc.)

6. Drainage basins are areas that are drained by a river and all the streams that empty into it.
