Sheet Sets Sacramento City College Engineering Design Technology Using Attributes
2
Objectives After completing this chapter, you will be able to do the following: Identify and describe the functions of the Sheet Set Manager. Create sheet sets. Add sheets and sheet views to a sheet set. Plot or publish a set of sheets. Insert callout blocks and view labels into sheet views. Using Attributes
3
Objectives Set up custom properties for a sheet set.
Create a sheet list table. Archive a set of electronic files for a sheet set. Using Attributes

Sheet Sets Organizing and distributing drawings during a design project Involves a wide range of tasks. Drawings often need to be shared with clients and other personnel to make sure the design is accurate and any changes are incorporated. As the project is developed, a set of drawings is used to build the design. The design can be relatively simple, such as the views for a mechanical part, or complex, such as the plans for a building or new highway off-ramp. Using Attributes
5
Sheet Sets Sheet Sets can be vastly different sizes
A simple mechanical part - only one drawing sheet for manufacturing, A 10-story office building may require a set of 100 sheets or more. Although design needs vary, the ability to organize drawings for exchange purposes is important because any project typically involves input from a number of sources. This ability becomes critical at the end of the project, when delivery of the drawings must take place in an orderly manner. Using Attributes
6
Sheet Sets Sheet Set Manager
helps simplify the management of a project with multiple drawings and views. The Sheet Set Manager can structure different drawing layouts into groups of files for Reviewing Plotting Publishing purposes. Using Attributes
7
Sheet Sets Sheet sets combine many AutoCAD features to automate and organize the entire drawing set for a project. Using Attributes
8
To understand and effectively apply sheet sets, you must understand
templates (Chapter 2) views (Chapters 6 and 25) fields (Chapter 9) blocks (Chapter 23) layouts (Chapter 25) attributes (Chapter 26) and external references (Chapter 28).
