Health Education The objective in Health focuses on student’s acceptance of personal responsibility for lifelong health, how students can become productive and healthy citizens, how to respect and promote the health of others, and an understanding of the process of growth and development.

Key notes in Health Grading is based on knowledge tests, quizzes, a notebook, projects, and participation. Human sexuality is included in all health classes; a signed permission slip is required for participation. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Physical Education The goal of TRMS Physical Education is to encourage each student to develop skills which will encourage lifelong activity. Our program is fitness based focusing on encouraging individual performance, measured by fitness testing (Fitness Gram) throughout the school year.

Key notes in PE Students are required to dress out for hygiene and safety reasons Lockers with locks are given out to individual students to securely store their belongings Students will participate in a variety of activities that include team sports, individual sports, and outdoor activities Grading is based on student participation, participation in fitness activities, and knowledge and skill development Please send a note from home if a student is unable to participate

Adventure Quest Info. Purpose is to encourage an appreciation for the outdoors and learn cooperative skills in a group setting

Topics include: Ropes and knot tying Orienteering Camping skills Hiking Building shelters Fire building Basic First Aid Cooperative games

Intramurals and Extramurals
Intramurals and Extramurals are a free afterschool activity open to all students. Intramural activities include: basketball, soccer, tennis, tumbling, track, volleyball and flag football Extramural activities are competitive sports in which 7th and 8th graders compete against other schools. Participants are required to have a physical before participating. Extramural sports include: soccer, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and track.
