3. Hope & Faithfulness Ezekiel 18:21-32 –
(21) “if a wicked man turns from all his sins… he shall surely live”
(24) “if a righteous man turns away from his righteousness… he shall die”
(30)“Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin”
(32) “Therefore turn and live!”

Ezekiel 18:21-23 –
(21)“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statues, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.”
(22) “None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live”

6. Hope Definition of Hope: the feeling that what is wanted can be had;
that events will turn out for the best;
to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence
to look forward, wish, or expect a future good

7. Hope A loving, merciful, & forgiving God:
Micah 7:18-20 – “He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities.”
Hebrews 8:6-12 – “For I will merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
Ephesians 2:1-5 – “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us”

8. Hope Our Hope is in Jesus Christ:
Matthew 1:21 – “call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins”
Colossians 1:12-14 – “in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”
I Timothy 1:12-16 – “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”

10. Faithfulness Ezekiel 18:24 –
“But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.”

11. Faithfulness Definition of Faithfulness:
True to one’s word, promises, vows, etc;
Steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant;
Adhering firmly and devotedly, as to a person, cause, or idea;
Engaging in intimate relations only with one’s spouse;

12. Faithfulness If we are not faithful, we depart from God:
Galatians 5:1-4 – “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace”
Hebrews 3:12-14 – “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God”
II Peter 2:20-22 – “A dog returns to his own vomit, and a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

13. Faithfulness God demands a life-long commitment:
Hebrews 10:23 – “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering”
Revelations 2:10 – “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life”
II Timothy 4:6-8 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness”

14. Conclusions What a great hope that we have in Jesus Christ
God is willing to save even me, a sinner guilty and deserving of death.
Yet, God demands a faithful service until death
We must continue to put our trust in God & do His will.
God desires that you be righteous in His sight.
Why not make your life right with God even tonight?
