Balloon Rocket Lab Objective: The purpose of this lab is to measure and calculate average speed, study forces involved in motion, and preview one of Newton’s Laws of Motion. Experimental Design: Find out what comparison are you going to do in order to perform this experiment and state what your outcome would be. Hypothesis: Make a statement in your notebook that predicts the speed of a released balloon if blown up to a bigger and bigger size:

Materials and Procedures:
Procedure: First, your group will prepare the balloon as in the diagram below. Blow up the balloon with no more than 1 big breath (or 2 small ones). Pinch the end close and tape the straw segment to the side (parallel with the balloon’s nozzle end). Slip the straw over the end of the string. Your balloon is ready to go. Results: Analysis: -Explains purpose of experiment -Restates hypothesis -States the findings of the experiment using specific data -Rejects/supports hypothesis -Discusses errors in lab techniques and procedures -Proposes new experiment
