To do this review the previous 12 months of billings and identify all the break fix work that was done. Enter that as Services Billed in the calculator, then review each charge and estimate what percentage would have been saved by preventative maintenance and enter it in the % Savings box. Then estimate the percentage saved due to the efficiency of 24/7 and remote fix, i.e. they do not need to pay for you to go onsite. Then enter price you are proposing to them for the service. This price should be set such that it delivers a healthy margin to you as well as a good ROI for the customer. You might need to test a few price levels in the calculator to arrive at a good number. Then transfer the numbers to the table above to present to the customer. When presenting simply walk the customer through the steps you took to arrive at the numbers. 9 Downtime Costs Based on national average of $42/hour/employee This chart shows the actual dollar cost of three hours of downtime to companies of various sizes. The calculation is made on a US average of $42 per hour full loaded labor cost for a professional employee. Use this chart to help demonstrate to a customer the actual dollar cost to them of down time. Be sure to point out this is the dollar cost of the labor component only and does not include any lost productivity, which is much higher. In your research for the customer in the previous slide try to quantify how many hours of downtime they experienced over the previous year, then using this chart you can estimate with them the cost of that downtime. Be sure to also discuss the opportunity cost of the lost orders etc. resulting from the downtime.
