In Graeciā patrēs mātrēsque dōna prō fīliīs receptīs ferunt, sed abest Aesōn, quī iam mortī vīcīnus est atque dēfessus multīs annīs.
2
Iāsōn Mēdēae dīxit: “Aufer ā meīs annīs et annōs ablātōs adde parentī
Iāsōn Mēdēae dīxit: “Aufer ā meīs annīs et annōs ablātōs adde parentī.” Mēdēa respondit: “Maius mūnus dare experiar, Iāsōn. Arte meā eī longiōrem vītam dare cōnābor, annīs tuīs nōn revocātīs, sī modo dea trifōrmis mē iuvābit.”
3
Post trēs noctēs ubi cornua lūnae coiērunt ut Dīāna plēnissima terrās spectāret, Mēdēa sōla per mūta silentia mediae noctis gradūs fert.
4
Mēdēa ter magnīs clāmōribus deam Hecatēn ōrāvit
Mēdēa ter magnīs clāmōribus deam Hecatēn ōrāvit. Ecce currus dracōnibus pennātīs tractus adest, in quem ascendit.
5
Mēdēa rapitur in montēs summōs quō crēscunt herbae magicae
Mēdēa rapitur in montēs summōs quō crēscunt herbae magicae. Post novem diēs et novem noctēs, herbīs collēctīs, currū dracōnibus pennātīs tractō rediit.
6
Mēdēa iussit corpus dēfessum Aesonis afferrī ad ārās quod in plēnōs somnōs pōnit. Aēnō in igne positō medicāmen validum fervet et albet spūmīs. Mille rēbus mixtīs, Mēdēa omnia in aēnō miscet rāmō olīvae.
7
Ecce rāmus prīmō viridis fit; brevī tempore frondet et subitō gravis est viridibus olīvīs.
8
Quae simul ac videt strictō ēnse Mēdēa guttur senis secat; Mēdēa veterem sanguinem effundit ut sūcīs novīs eum repleat.
9
Postquam Aesōn bibit sūcōs aut ōre aut vulnere, barba capillīque colōrem nigrum recipiunt. Pallor abit et membra valida fīunt. Aesōn mīrātur sē iuvenem iterum esse.
