Example1: Find the median of first 5 positive integer.
Solution: The first 5 positive numbers are 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 We have 5 numbers which is odd , therefore we have one middle number. The middle number is 3, so the median is 3. Example2: Find the median of first 7 natural numbers. Solution: The first 5 positive numbers are 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 We have 7 numbers which is odd , therefore we have one middle number. The middle number is 4, so the median is 4.

Example 3: Find the median of the first six odd numbers.
Solution: The first 6 odd numbers are 1 , 3 , 5 , 7 , 9 , 11 We have 6 numbers which is even, therefore we have two middle numbers. The middle numbers are 5 and 7. To find median we add the two numbers and then divide by 2 5 + 7 = 12 then 12 ÷ 2 = 6 So the median is 6
