Today’s Task
The Less than 2 Hour Film Challenge
You have less than two hours in which to undertake and complete the following Tasks…
You are going to be given a Script from an existing Film. In your groups of four, you are to read through the Script and then Discuss and Negotiate how you are going to film it.
Once decided, you are, as a group, to Storyboard the sequence.
You are then to allocate Job Roles (Director, DP and 2 Actors) and then film the planned sequence.
Once filmed, transfer the footage onto the Macs and, as a group, undertake and complete the Edit to Final Cut.

6. The Script
The Script you will be working on is from an existing film (from the Eighties) and has, therefore, already being made. It has been chosen as it builds upon the work you undertook last week: the photographic Storyboard of the Conversation. As such, the Script is simply another conversation but, this time, there are more dramatic elements within it: as the conversation progresses the tension between Interviewee and Interviewer increases…
How are you going to express this growing tension through your camera work and composition?
How are you going to communicate the shift in power between the characters through camerawork and composition?

7. Task Requirements
You are not to worry about Location and Props. The Task is not about creating a sense of realism, it is about communicating the story of the interview and the tension between the two characters.
You are not to deviate from the Script. Follow it as closely as you possibly can.
You are not to go off the Campus: you are to decide on a location to film outside blocks A/B/C and tell Lee where this will be: you are to stay in this location at all times. Lee and James will be coming round to see you working and support your interpretation of the Script.
