3 BBBAA: Who we are… 14 Member NFP Regional Recreation Board
Formed Jan. 2008 7 communities; Bay Bulls, Witless Bay, Mobile, Tors Cove, Burnt Cove, St. Michael’s and Bauline East Board Directors include: Reps from seven communities Community Youth Network O’Conner 50+ Club Southern Shore Unite 1 Full Time Employee, Regional Recreation Director – Trudy Williams (BPE) Funded, Dept. TCR, 3yr contract, 58%(yr1), 88%(yr2,3) 4/25/2019

4 Mission/Values To promote, foster and develop recreational infrastructure, programs and services to ensure the effective delivery of community-based sports, recreation and leisure time activities for all residents and visitors to our region. 5 BBBAA: Accomplishments
2009 – Q1 1st Regional Winter Carnival ($22,500 BCAH Grant) Generated approx. $40,000 within region Auction: $10,000 to groups – Soccer, Burnt Cv Ball Field Partnered with groups in region to offer events (Schools, 50+, towns, etc) Grant applications: Students (Service Can., Prov.); Winter Carnival 2009-Q2 Hired New Regional Recreation Director Strategic Planning Session, sponsored by TCR Summer Program Developed/hire staff 1st Spring Soccer Session Developed New Horizons Grant for 50+ Southern Shore United Soccer Committee established 4/25/2019

Minister of TCR visit/announcement in Bay Bulls Regional Summer Programs, Soccer, Baseball and Special Events Canada Day co-host with Witless Bay (BCAH, $1250 grant) 3rd Annual Reg. Games co-host Tors Cv-Bauline (TCR, $10,000) 2009-Q4 2nd Annual Fall Regional Activity Guide Developed first 50+ poster and brochure Grant applications (submitting on behalf of region) RInc, PWG, True Sport, WC Sod-Turning Ceremony for New Lifestyle Center RRD Training: High Five Trainer, Phys. Activity Community Site 2010 Grants approved: New Horizons ($16,000), RiNC ($25,000), Winter Carnival ($10,400) 4/25/2019

9 BBBAA: Why… In Can., 77% men & 75% women considered inactive. (AT.)
87% of children/youth are not meeting recommended 90min. of physical activity a day (Active Healthy Kids Can.) We are the first generation who’s children may have a shorter lifespan than their parents.
