1 6X Wednesday Objectives: Understand class procedures. Describe history and the skills needed to study it. Agenda (Do not copy) Have your homework ready for me to check. Do Now: What part of Middle School has been the most fun so far? Why? What has been the most challenging? Why? Finish discussing classroom procedures. Lesson: What is history? Exit Ticket

2 Class Procedures Coming In: 1. Have homework ready for me to check
2. Write down your homework in your planner. 3. Write the date, day, and the objective in your notebook. 4. Work on your Do Now.

3 Class Procedures Leaving Class:
1. The bell does not dismiss you. The teacher dismisses you. 2. Listen for instructions. Do not get up or begin getting ready while the teacher or a speaker is addressing the class. 3. Make sure you have your homework written down in your planner and anything you'll need to complete it. 4. Do not leave anything inside your desks. Leave your work space neat and clean. 5. Walk out of the room in an orderly manner.

4 Class Procedures Moving Around the Classroom:
1. While a speaker is addressing you, do not leave your desk unless it is an emergency or absolutely necessary for you to continue taking notes. 2. Throwing away trash, going to the bathroom, etc. needs to wait until the speaker is done addressing the class. 3. Make sure you bring at least two sharpened pencils/pens to class so that you do not have to get up and disrupt the class while a speaker is talking. FAILURE TO FOLLOW CLASS PROCEDURES COULD RESULT IN A DEMERIT.

5 What is a demerit? 3 demerits = 1 detention
What are some things that will get you a demerit?

6 What is history? Share your homework answers.

7 What is history? Explain the following quote in your notebook: “The very ink with which history is written is liquid prejudice.” –Mark Twain

10 In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.
Afternoon Prayers In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN Act of Faith O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Your divine Son became man and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because You have revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.  Examination of Conscience for Virtue of the Month Act of Contrition My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You, whom I should love above all things. I have hurt myself and others. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.
