2 FIGURE 1 Therapeutic Ratio: The curve for tumor control is in green and the curve for normal tissue complication is in blue. With the use of a radiation sensitizer, the hope is for preferential selection of the tumor tissue shifting that curve preferentially to the left reducing the risk of normal tissue complication. Often, there is no selection and both curves will shift resulting in no relative gain.
