Figure 1 ROC curves of FT for the detection of (A) moderate to severe fibrosis and (B) cirrhosis compared to all the other stages of tumors (F0–F3). The diagonal line represents that achieved by chance alone (AUROC, .50); the ideal AUROC is For the primary outcome, the detection of F2–F4 fibrosis (panel A), the area under the curve of FT (line in bold) was .84 ± .03 and .79 ± .03 for hyaluronic acid, both highly significant, vs chance (P < .001); for detection of cirrhosis (panel B), the area under the curve of FT was .95 ± .01 and .93 ± .02 for hyaluronic acid, also very significant, vs chance (P < .001). However, the AUC for FT is not different from the AUC for serum hyaluronic acid.
