Defence White Paper 2013 (DWP13)
Strategic Guidance Defence White Paper 2013 (DWP13) WP09 provided the extant strategic context to LAND 400 New WP due mid IPT providing options for consideration by WP13 team The close combat capability is enduring so the requirement for the LAND 400 platforms should remain The IPT assesses that if there are any changes they are likely to pertain to quantities and/or priorities for sub-capability introduction

Project Intent – no change
The intent is for the Land 400 Land Combat Vehicle System (LCVS) to provide the mounted close combat capability for the Land Force Additionally, Land 400 LCVS is the lead project for integration within the Combined Arms Fighting System (CAFS)

LAND 400 LCVS - Current Status
Timeline (IAW DCP12) 1st Pass => FY13/14 – 14/15 Open Request for Tender (RFT) scheduled for release following 1st Pass approval 2nd Pass => FY18/19 – 20/21 Initial Materiel Release => FY23/24 – 24/25 Initial Operating Capability => FY26/27-27/28

AS Industry Capability Strategy
Draft AIC Strategy has been developed Use of Acquisition and Support Implementation Strategy (ASIS) and DMO Reduced Cost of Tendering reforms Aim is to maximise AS content Intend to continue industry interaction, both regular (2 x LEWG / year) and ad hoc one-on-one as required

Key LAND 400 AIC Objectives
Ensure that local industry is provided with full, fair and reasonable opportunities to tender for work Identify opportunities for AS industry and encourage OEMs to deliver cost-effective local work to AS’s Defence Industry Facilitate local industry opportunities within prospective Primes’ global supply chains to establish long-term alliances Ensure that necessary IP and technology is transferred to capable local companies to enable effective local support arrangements
