"How can we, as active community members in Tempe AZ, create a product to promote the conservation of resources and protect our environment?"

6 Choose Your topic Conserving energy (fossil fuels) Conserving water
Pollution (water, air or land) 3 Rs (reduce reuse recycle) Choose Your topic

7 Your Project Choose one area of interest:
reduce/reuse/recycle water conservation pollution (air, land or water) Brainstorm what type of product you will create to help raise awareness Possibilities: report, PSA (public service announcement), Google Slides presentation, brochures…...etc. What information will you need to present? What can Mrs. Reid and Mrs. Ganssle do to assist you? Work on completing project sheet (due this week!)

8 Choose your Project PSA- Public Service Announcement
A message to the public that raises awareness and tries to change an attitude about an issue What is the message does this PSA give? What does it ask the public to do?

9 PSA- continueD Your PSA can be done as a video on WeVideo OR can be presented with a Google Slide presentation (you must present to the class) Give FACTS! What are the causes and effects? What might happen if we don’t change? What do you want your audience to do? HOW will they do it?

10 Example Discuss: What is the issue? What are they asking you to do?
What could they have added?

11 Another Choice- an invention
Create a video or presentation about an invention that would help with conservation or pollution -it must be an original idea -what would it do to help and how?

12 Getting Started Fill out project sheet (counts as a Science AND writing grade) You must turn in your OWN project, however, you can work with others (no more than 3) You will have class time to work, but you can work at home Resources you can use for information: Ganssle Blog/student resources- videos, science book, internet….others?
