1 Make the weekly Do Now on page _100__.
8th Grade Science Do Now Monday, April 8, 2013 Make the weekly Do Now on page _100__. Describe the similarities and differences between an unbalanced and balanced force.

2 Today’s Schedule Do Now Graph around the room Unit Review
8th Grade Science Today’s Schedule Monday, April 8, 2013 Do Now Graph around the room Unit Review Pre-AP Grade-Level HW: Unit Review Due: Wed/Thrs Quiz on Wed/Thrs Vocabulary Essential Question Inertia Mass Friction Action-Reaction Acceleration Balanced Forces Velocity Unbalanced Forces Force How do we calculate and communicate the change in position, direction and speed for moving objects? How do unbalanced forces affect the motion of an object? How de we transform energy to make it useful?

3 8th Grade Science Today we will… Monday, April 8, 2013 8.6 (A) demonstrate and calculate how unbalanced forces change the speed or direction of an object's motion; (B) differentiate between speed, velocity, and acceleration; and (C)  investigate and describe applications of Newton's law of inertia, law of force and acceleration, and law of action-reaction such as in vehicle restraints, sports activities, amusement park rides, Earth's tectonic activities, and rocket launches. Objective: Students will review graphs that show changes in motion.

4 Record your answers in your notebooks.
8th Grade Science Graph Around the Room Monday, April 8, 2013 As a table group, go around the room to each of the graphs and answer the questions. Record your answers in your notebooks.

5 Work on the Unit Review for Force and Motion.
8th Grade Science Unit Review Monday, April 8, 2013 Work on the Unit Review for Force and Motion.

6 Discuss the force of the exhaust and the rocket.
8th Grade Science Do Now Tuesday, April 9, 2013 On page 100…. Explain how a rocket launching demonstrates Newton’s 3rd law of motion. Discuss the force of the exhaust and the rocket.
