Running Record Annotated copies of material a child has read aloud with miscues and other reading behaviors noted. Sample page 82 Completed at, or near, a child’s instructional level Originally used with Reading Recovery Typically collected more frequently for struggling readers. Measured using a cold read 90%+ accuracy = instructional level

Reading Behaviors Physical Behaviors: tracking, distracted, loses place, fluency, skips text, squints, etc… Cognitive Behaviors: Use of comprehension strategies, attitude toward reading overall. Uses one or more strategies, uses context, rereads, sub vocalizes to make sense, attempts self correction.
