Between 18th March and 21st March 2018, 25 schools from Manchester and the Greater Manchester area will travel to Belgium and France to visit key sites from the First World War. This will culminate in a memorial service in France on the 21st March, 100 years after the battle. On April 15th 2018, there will be a memorial service in Manchester Cathedral to commemorate the Battle of Manchester Hill. Primary schools from around the city have been involved in researching the Battle of Manchester Hill and writing letters and diary entries as if they were soldiers participating in the battle. These will be displayed in Manchester Central Library.
