What do you think? At the start of a presentation it is good to ask open personal questions so that the participants feel relaxed and get to know each other. You can interact with the audience without asking a single question. Offering the audience the possibility to ask questions any time during the presentation greatly fosters interaction. If you don’t know the answer to a question, say so.

Humour Make fun of yourself and not others. Avoid old jokes.
Do not overreact your own jokes. Change strategy if the audience do not react. Connect it to the topic. Time it well. Wait till the audience cool down.

What is the point then? English exists in many different forms. Functions: introduce/highlight new topic, main ideas indicate the controversial nature of a point Do use them in strategic places to emphasise info not use them all the time
