Figure 1 A, Department of Medicine (DOM) National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding versus Gastroenterology and Hepatology (GIH) Divisional NIH funding for the fiscal years 2014–2016. NIH funding data were obtained from the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research, which compiles annual NIH funding data from the Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tool (RePORT) and the findings were plotted on a logarithmic scale. We observed a moderately positive association between DOM and GIH Divisional NIH funding. R = 0.54; P < B, Mean GIH division h-index compared with the GIH division faculty size. The data show a weak association between the h-index and the division faculty size. The findings were plotted on a logarithmic scale. R = 0.33; P = C, GIH Divisional NIH funding during the fiscal years 2014–2016 compared with the mean of the GIH division h-index. The funding of the GIH Division was moderately associated with average H index. The findings were plotted on a logarithmic scale. R = 0.53; P < Gastroenterology , 4-6DOI: ( /j.gastro ) Copyright © 2019 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions
