1 Equity & Access Policy Statement
The College Board strongly encourages educators to make equitable access a guiding principle for their AP programs by giving all willing and academically prepared students the opportunity to participate in AP.

2 Equity & Access Policy Statement
We encourage educators to: Eliminate barriers that restrict access to AP for students from ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic groups that have been traditionally underserved. It is very important to point out that there is a new Equity and Access policy statement. Give consultants a few minutes to read it. [Note: You might keep an eye on the chat board during this slide. For many people, this statement raises questions and concerns. Particularly the last bullet point about providing students to challenging coursework before enrolling in AP.] Announce that an activity to guide participants in their workshops through examining and discussing the statement has been included in the workshop. The next slide shows the activity.
