Decreasing Time-Trends of Colorectal Cancer in a Large Cohort of Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease  Sverre Söderlund, Lena Brandt, Annika Lapidus, Per Karlén, Olle Broström, Robert Löfberg, Anders Ekbom, Johan Askling  Gastroenterology  Volume 136, Issue 5, Pages (May 2009) DOI: /j.gastro Copyright © 2009 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions

2 Figure 1 Cumulative incidence of CRC by type of IBD. Kaplan–Meier curves standardized to the mean value of age, sex, type, and extent of IBD in the entire cohort of 7607 patients with IBD. Gastroenterology  , DOI: ( /j.gastro ) Copyright © 2009 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions

3 Figure 2 (A) Cumulative incidence of CRC by calendar period of IBD diagnosis. Kaplan–Meier curves standardized to the mean value of age, sex, and extent of IBD in the entire cohort of 7607 patients with IBD. (B) Cumulative risk of death listing CRC as cause(s) of death, by calendar period of IBD diagnosis. Kaplan–Meier curves standardized to the mean value of age, sex, and extent of IBD in the entire cohort of 7607 patients with IBD. 4 Figure 3 Mortality per 100,000 person-years from CRC from 1970 through 2004 in 7607 patients with IBD, by calendar period of diagnosis of IBD (1960–1969, 1970–1979, 1980–1989). Rates were standardized to the distribution of age, sex, type, and extent of IBD in the entire cohort. Because of the large uncertainty in standardized incidence based on the single death from CRC in the time period from 1960 to 1969 (see Table 3), this period was excluded from this Figure.
