1 Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting decreases risk-adjusted mortality and morbidity
Joseph C Cleveland, MD, A.Laurie W Shroyer, PhD, Anita Y Chen, MS, Eric Peterson, MD, Frederick L Grover, MD  The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  Volume 72, Issue 4, Pages (October 2001) DOI: /S (01)

2 Fig 1 Observed-to-expected ratio of mortality and any major complication. Shown is the effect of off-pump CABG in decreasing observed-to-expected mortality and occurrence of any of the five major complications analyzed. (∗p < 0.05 between on-pump and off-pump groups.) The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  , DOI: ( /S (01) )

3 Fig 2 Observed-to-expected ratio of the five major complications. Graph shows effect of off-pump CABG in decreasing observed-to-expected occurrences of acute postoperative renal failure, bleeding complications, cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) such as stroke or coma, and prolonged ventilator dependence. There was no observed decrease in deep sternal infections between the two groups. (∗p < 0.05 between on and off-pump groups.) The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  , DOI: ( /S (01) )
