English teachers writing?
The diverse ways in which English teachers are required to write in their everyday work, which might be crudely categorised as ‘utilitarian’ The writing that English teachers choose to do that goes beyond merely utilitarian forms and tasks The writing that falls on, or around, the boundary separating these two notions GP to speak to this slide

Four traditions of writing in English teaching?
Teacher writing to improve student writing Writing as a form of inquiry, often initiated by the teacher (action research etc), which may or may not be explicitly connected to the teaching of writing Writing as a form of advocacy - in the public sphere but also within the profession Writing as/for identity development GP to take this one. Explaining these traditions in general terms

What writing do you do in your everyday professional life? How do you (or others) use that writing? Do you write for, or with, your students or colleagues? What possibilities are there for this writing and what constraints? How do you see writing in relation to your sense of yourself as an English educator?
