3 Would Mrs. Britz think this is correct?
My dad was a pioneer because he was the first man to explore Antartica. Yes, pioneer is used correctly and is defined within the context of the sentence.

4 Would Mrs. Britz think this is correct?
My leg got a crampon the trail making it easier to climb so I wouldn’t slip on the ice. No, crampon is not used correctly although weirdly it is defined in context. A good correction would be…. I wore crampons on the trail making it easier to climb so I wouldn’t slip on the ice.

5 Would Mrs. Britz think this is correct?
I drove my expedition home. Nope….No definition of the word in context, plus it wouldn’t make sense to use the right definition in this sentence. Both are used correctly, both the vocabulary word means a special journey with a purpose not an SUV.
