Economic Systems of the early 1900’s

Karl Marx Karl Marx was born in Germany in 1818 but moved to Paris in 1843 to pursue a career in journalism. he was the editor of a newspaper but started writing about changing the French government by overthrowing it physically and financially had to flee to London. In England he meets Fredrick Engels and gets paid to write “The Communist Manifesto” exposing the evils of a society based on money, the goals of communism and the methods people should use to overthrown their current government. He becomes the face of radical socialists By 1883, Marx dies in severe poverty, surrounded by piles of writings on how money has destroyed mankind, later it is discovered that he was not poor, he just allowed Fredrick Engels to pay for everything in his life for the last 40 years

Socialism Socialism is an economic system that attempts to organize a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies a system of society or group living in which there is no private property a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Communism Scary to think it’s really happening Communism is a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party. A political and economic doctrine that aims to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and communal control of at least the major means of production (e.g., mines, mills, and factories) and the natural resources of a society. Communism is thus a form of socialism—a higher and more advanced form, according to its advocates. Exactly how communism differs from socialism has long been a matter of debate, but the distinction rests largely on the communists’ adherence to the revolutionary socialism of Karl Marx.

Capitalism * Capitalism is a social economic system based on the principle of individual rights. Politically and economically, it is the system of laissez-faire (hands off). * Legally it is a system of objective laws (rule of law as opposed to rule of man). * Economically, when such freedom is applied to the sphere of production its result is the free-market.

General Overview Remember that your view on which system is good or bad, right or wrong, the best or the worst will be based on your own personal views and the teachings of your parents. If anything we have gone over is against your views or you disagree that Is ok, go with what your parents teach you. Remember that so many times we get hung upon the title of our party and what they use to stand for years ago instead of what they have become in today’s world, instead of being a sheeple, do the research on each candidate and system (in the present world) and find out what we really believe in. Like so many things in life, there is always good and always bad to everything, it’s your future that you will have to live with because of the decisions of today Learn true history and not what the TV, Facebook, Newspapers and other media tell you to believe, you need to do the research yourself from trusted and valid sources, your brain is your best investment and protection
