Significance: Shows that the colonies are willing to take unified action to protect their rights

Using the handout, answer the following in your notes. You will need to write the questions. 1. Where did the 1st Continental Congress meet? 2. Which colony did not attend? Why? 3. What did the 1st Continental Congress seek to do? 4. List prominent members of the Congress and then briefly describe the lives of the 1st Continental Congress members. 5. List and briefly describe the five major actions taken by the First Continental Congress. 6. Read “Declaration and Resolves of the First Congress” and write in your own words the 10 rights Congress members said the colonies should have.
