Kona Dolphin Adventure check-in at 8:30AM Keauhou Bay boat ramp return 1:00 pm
This 4 hour adventure is focused on finding the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins and/or the Spotted Dolphins and spending quality time with them. You will get to interact with the dolphins while learning about them and getting great photo opportunities both above and below the surface. Guests may get to swim with the dolphins depending on where they are and what they are doing. Our local knowledge and expertise in finding the dolphins comes from over 10 years of running dolphin, whalewatching, and snorkeling tours in Kona. Utmost care is given not to disrupt their rest, nursing and breeding behaviors. We do have a high success rate of finding the dolphins and letting them "choose" whether to interact with us or not. When they do choose to interact with us, it is truly magical and can be a life changing experience. One example is when the dolphins are "playing the leaf game" they will often bring the leaf or "toy" over to a swimmer as if inviting them to play with them.

Manta Ray Madness We at KCD came up with an idea to have cordless, highly powered lights with over 400 watts, to enhance the plankton bloom immensely, and help ensure that our divers would see mantas on just about every trip. This idea became a reality when we had these lights specially manufactured for us. On each of our manta trips, divemasters place these light units in a depth of feet, which gives the Manta Rays lots of room to feed. Our customers gather around the lights in a wide circle, as a swarm of plankton clouds around the lights. Then, out of nowhere, within the outer darkness, the slow-moving mantas materialize. Your heart almost stops as you see this gentle giant come within inches of you, making endless slow loops in the shaft of light coming from our "Manta Catchers" (the name we gave our underwater lights). We have spotted up to a dozen mantas on a given trip; although this is not a normal occurrence, we have been fortunate in seeing at least one manta almost every trip!
