4. TRIDENT WORK EXPERIENCE
YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS:
ARRANGE YOUR OWN PLACEMENT OR
CHOOSE FROM THE WEBSITE

5. OWN PLACEMENT Job / company not already in the scheme
Ask school for an own placement form or download form from the Trident website
Trident will visit the employer
Can be organised in the UK
Great way to encourage an employer to join the Trident scheme and take future students

6. Log in to https://skills.gov.je and press login

7. Type in your Username and Password as it is written on your letter e.g. Username: michaelamure Password: 5whitebees

8. You will be asked to reset your password.
Choose something familiar such as your school password or keep the password on your letter.

9. Click on Search. You can search by category, Employer or tick the types of tasks e.g. ’involves physical activity’.

10. A list of jobs (opportunities) will come up
A list of jobs (opportunities) will come up. You can hover over them for a description. If you want to look further, click on the magnifying glass icon.

11. Read the full description
Read the full description. Look at days, hours of work and location of the placement – can you get there? Click on Apply Now if you wish to add this role as one of your six choices.

12. The system will not allow you to make more than six choices
The system will not allow you to make more than six choices. You can delete a choice by clicking on the red circle. The system will lock once the deadline date is reached and you will no longer be able to add or delate choices.

13. The Application Form… On the reverse of your form you must state:
Why you have chosen your jobs
What skills you hope to gain
Any relevant interests or hobbies
Check:
Your handwriting should be legible
Form must have a Parent/guardian signature and the relevant health box circled.
Form must be handed In before the deadline set by your school.
