Take-off DataPoint is a Microsoft PowerPoint add-on that enables you to link information coming from text files, databases and Microsoft Excel sheets directly into your Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
You can view your presentation with an online connection to your data source or just generate a new offline presentation based on your actual information.
The following slides will show you how to achieve this.

We are going to link a presentation to a text file.
Click on DataPoint and Slide show properties.

On the Text files tab click Add. Browse to the text file courses.txt located in the Tutorial folder of DataPoint. By default DataPoint is installed at C:\Program files\Take-off\DataPoint. Also mark the ‘The first row contains field names’ check box.
Click twice OK to close all forms.

Now insert a new text box or select an existing text box.
From the DataPoint menu choose Text shape properties.

Select the entry Course from the Column drop-down box to display to content of the course field. By doing this we link the content of field Course of the first record to the selected textbox.
Click OK to close.

Now you have successfully linked a text box to the content of a text file. You can now start to show your presentation.
If during the show, the content of the field Course at row 1 is changed, your text box will be updated automatically.
Click View show from the Slide show menu.
