~Number your dry erase board from 1-6. Read each sentence. Replace the underlined nouns with a pronoun from the list above. Kira watches the giraffes at the zoo. My brother and I like spaghetti. Luke wakes up early to catch the bus. Ben and Jillian like to go the beach. Ethan can throw the ball far. My mom calls my brother and I in for dinner.

Some pronouns are possessive
Some pronouns are possessive. Possessive nouns shows ownership of something. A possessive noun comes before nouns. Here are some examples : my, his, her, its, your, our and their. ( Mine, his, hers ,yours, ours, theirs are used alone.)

my, his, her, its, your, our and their My hat is big. His boots are ripped Her flowers are withered. Its place was taken by another player. Your grand mother is coming to visit. Our class is going on a trip. Their test scores are hidden.

I , you, she, he, it are some examples of singular pronouns.
Singular pronouns takes place of a noun that names one person, place or thing. I , you, she, he, it are some examples of singular pronouns. Plural pronoun takes place of a noun that names more than one person, place or thing. we and they are examples of this. These are subject pronouns.

Me, you him, her & it are examples of object pronouns.
Some pronouns can be object pronouns , that means they are used in the predicates of sentences. Me, you him, her & it are examples of object pronouns.

Sometimes a pronoun can be used as an object or a subject.

Pronouns as subjects: They name who is doing the action. I am in third grade. We are going to the zoo. You are my best friend. He is late for class. She is pretty. They are screaming.

Pronouns as objects of the sentence: They name who is receiving the action of the sentence. My mom told me to sit quietly. It took us a long time to sit quietly. I’ll blame you for all the noise, “said mom”. I told him to go home. She called her mom on the phone. The parents came for them.
