1 Cultural Diffusion, Lag, and Leveling
Edward S. Janae R. 3B

2 What is Cultural Diffusion?
the spreading out of culture, culture traits, or a cultural pattern from a central point. The popularity of sushi, a traditional Japanese dish, shows diffusion of Japanese cuisine. McDonald’s restaurants have sprung up virtually everywhere.

3 Cultural Lag? refers to the notion that culture takes time to catch up with technological innovations, and that social problems and conflicts are caused by this lag. Example being, Life support technology: The development of new cultural beliefs, values, and norms lags behind the dilemmas posed by the technological change.

4 What is Cultural Leveling?

5 Definition Cultural leveling is a process in which cultures become similar to one another. The globalization of capitalism brings with it both technology and Western culture. Japan, for example, has adopted not only capitalism but also Western forms of dress and music, transforming it into a blend of Western and Eastern cultures.
