Class work will cover chapters 12 – 20
While you may comment on chapters prior to 12, do not go beyond 20. If you use a spiral notebook, you make put your work there. You may use pencil; however, your work must be legible, that includes visible.

- Discuss the monster’s capacity to care.
- The monster’s education and the discoveries he makes: What is the monster’s response to each of the following? His appearance Human kindness Ruins of Empires Goethe’s The Sorrows of Werter Plutarch’s Lives Milton’s Paradise Lost How do the monster’s emotions change as he gains knowledge? Does Shelley open the door for sympathy for either of her main characters? Explain Where is irony in these chapters? (Ex: The monster reaches out only to be rejected and misunderstood.)
