Business Case Our off shoring efforts have saved Company more than $20M. Associates need to understand and support our off-shoring efforts in order for those efforts to be fully successful. Many associates will be traveling to India who have not been there (or perhaps traveled anywhere internationally) before. Associates traveling to India must understand the Indian culture and what to expect when traveling to India. It is critical that associates working remotely with our India partners have the skills to successfully interact with colleagues and others in India

Desired Behavior & Performance
All associates taking this course – those traveling and those working remotely – must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the Indian culture and how (and why) Company does business in India. Associates traveling to India must have a deeper understanding of cultural business norms in India, be able to adapt to the culture, and know what to expect while in India.

Content to be Included The training course will include information on: General information about India Locations of our Indian offshore sites Similarities and differences in culture Actions to be taken prior to going to India Accommodations in India What Company and associate are each responsible for while traveling to India

Executive Message Executive Message introduction to the curriculum; reiterates importance of preparing for working with offshore partners E-Learning: “Understanding India” Self-paced, interactive online class Includes activities and self-checks throughout Successful completion required before participating in small group experience Instructor-Led: “Experiencing India” Small group, classroom session (use of virtual classroom as back-up) Focuses on application of information learned in e-learning Includes discussion, role play, Q&A Available Tools and Resources E-learning (can be re-visited as needed) Resource page Mentor/buddy (tbd by client) E-Learning (online class) Instructor-Led Experience Available tools and resources

Tracking of completion (both e-learning and instructor-led) “Level 1” Evaluation Measures associate reaction to the learning and used to adjust courses in the future To be completed for both e-learning and instructor-led “Level 2” Evaluation Measures associate knowledge via tests To be completed for e-learning portion

Communications, Support & Roll-Out
Sourcing Office will include course information in materials send to all travelers. L&D will include an “ad” for the e-learning course in the rotation on the L&D website. Sourcing office will follow up as needed with travelers to ensure completion of both courses.

Assumptions Content for the e-learning will be taken from the PowerPoint currently in use; this PowerPoint contains all needed content, and is accurate. E-learning must be structured so that it can be completed in small chunks and used as a reference after completion. Learning Consultants will facilitate the instructor-led experience. Instructor-led experience must be scalable. Learning will include Company associate experiences, including quotes, video, and still photos; these items will be provided by the client.

Risk Factors Timeline for completion is very tight; if reviews and approvals are not turned around very quickly by stakeholders, the project will not be completed on time. The timeframe allows for only a limited amount of interactivity in the e-learning course; this reduces the effectiveness of the course (although minimally).
