4.Acknowledging individuals’ personal beliefs and identity.
Successful care workers understand that people are different, whether from different races, age groups or genders. Task: To make notes on the differences between clients and how their care should reflect these differences.

5.Protecting individuals from abuse.
Abuse can come in several different forms and can affect how clients are treated by their care workers. However, care workers can also be abused by their clients (think about the reports of nurses in A & E being attacked by drunk clients) Task: To make notes on the types of abuse and how they can affect the standard of care being given or received.

6.Promoting effective communication and relationships.
We have already discovered that effective communication between care workers and clients is vital when care is needed (Chapter 4). Task: To make notes on how effective communication and forming relationships between care workers and clients can benefit the standard of care needed

7.Providing individualised care.
If a client has a specific illness or condition eg. Diabetes, it is vital that the care being provided meets the clients needs or they could end up even more ill. Task: To make notes on how providing individualised care can affect the standard of care being given to clients.
