Early Years Foundation Stage
- From birth to 5 (birth – 11 months, 8-20 months, 22-36months, 30-50months, 40-60months) Reception is the final year of the EYFS and it is at the end of Reception that children are assessed as being emerging, expected or exceeding (1,2,3) across 17 areas of learning. We track across the age related bands and make a summative judgement in May/June which we submit to Birmingham.

The EYFS Framework Children should develop the three prime areas first. These are: Communication and language; Physical development; Personal, social and emotional development.

As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in four specific areas.
Literacy Mathematics Understanding the World Expressive arts and design.

At Deanery Baseline by getting to know your children and highlighting against development matters age related bands. Baseline using a programme called BASE, computer related test taken with Teacher 1 to 1. Continually assess and highlight and track half termly throughout the year. Baseline using a programme called BASE again, computer related test taken with Teacher 1 to 1 end of Reception year.

2017-2018 Good level of development.

Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
