“White House staff readies for whirlwind moving day”
2
While the world watches President-elect Donald Trump take the oath of office on Inauguration Day, almost 100 White House staffers will be watching the clock while they have only six hours to transform and prepare the 132-room mansion into the new first family's home. On the morning of January 20, President Barack Obama and the current first family will say goodbye to the place they've called home for eight years. Immediately after they leave their former home, White House staff rushes to prepare it for Trump and his family according to their own preferences and style. "It's more like organized chaos," Chief White House usher Stephen Rochon said. While movers hurry back and forth, other areas of the White House are set up including new touches to the dining rooms. Rochon said anything can be changed on the second and third floors of the White House, which are used as the private floors for the first family. As far as Trump's requests, the President-elect told Tapper that he does not have plans to redecorate the White House, "It's a very special place. ... I'm going to be working. I'm not going to be decorating."

In Other News The last person to leave footprints on the moon has died. NASA reported that Gene Cernan died Monday at the age of 82, surrounded by his family. Gene Cernan flew in space three times, including twice to the moon. The underwater search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has been suspended nearly three years after the plane vanished without a trace over the Indian Ocean, according to a joint statement from Chinese, Australian and Malaysian officials. The three countries had been leading the search for MH370, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board. "Despite every effort using the best science available, cutting edge technology, as well as modeling and advice from highly skilled professionals who are the best in their field, unfortunately, the search has not been able to locate the aircraft," the statement said. The plane's disappearance remains one of the greatest aviation mysteries in modern history. Voice370, a support group for family members of those aboard the flight, released a statement expressing their disappointment.
