Q. Start by asking participants if they believe they live in a close community (is it tight-knit)
Would participants say that a large proportion of the tasks carried out by community members is volunteer-based?

3. What is a time bank? Are their certain tasks you need help with?
But can’t find someone to help you?
Do you enjoy helping your neighbours? But don’t know who to help? Or how?
So within your community there will be individuals who have many skills to share, and others who can benefit from those skills-everyone needs a helping hand sometimes
With many communities it can be difficult to get help
That is why we are setting up a time bank- in order to connect members of a community together
- A time will put you in touch with people people who enjoy your difficult tasks
- Allows you to help other people with their difficult tasks

4. 1 hour of service=1 time credit
What is a time bank?
Time Bank = a community system where you volunteer ONE HOUR of your time helping someone
Earns you a TIME CREDIT
Use you TIME CREDIT to get ONE HOUR of service from anyone else in the time bank
1 hour of service=1 time credit
It doesn’t matter what you spend the hour doing, everyone’s time is equal!

As individuals you can build valuable experience by offering your services through the time bank. If you are newcomer to Canada-participating in the time bank can help you to build essential job skills???
in addition, by offering your services, you earn time credits, which allow you to access both services and goods within your community
One of the goals of the uplift credit exchange is to eventually offer goods (ex. Food) in exchange for time credits
If you are part of an organization- you can use the time bank to recruit volunteers, connect with other organizations and advertise the services offered by your organization to members of the community
Finally- the UpLIFT credit exchange will benefit the entire community by bringing people together and will allow the community to tap into the the pool of talent that exists within it
- In addition the time bank will provide an alternative to a money-based system-reduces economic stress within the community
