4 Introduction

5 What is this guide ? This is a guide on how to show an introductory overview of the Super Demo Data This demo provides a complete network made of 2 x 6860 as access switches, 4 x 6900 as core switches, 2 x Stellar Aps 1201, several clients (wifi and wired), a WAN Router (PfSense) and an Omnivista Cirrus. Each of this equipment can be fully managed directly from the web, thus a simple web browser can be used to cover all the demos.

6 Equipment requirements
One (1) terminal of your choice (PC, tablet...), bigger is the screen, better will be the user experience. Internet connection

7 How to connect to the demo platform
Please refer to the "Platform Information" associated documentation

8 ERP

9 ERP This is the main screen of the ERP demo
The network is made of one ERP main ring with the 4 OS-6900 (Core 1 to Core 4) and 2 ERP sub-rings with for each (Access 1 and Access 2). The legend indicate the port status : Grey means Inactive Red means blocking (RPL port from ERP perspective) Green means Forwarding Blue means Administrative down If you click on a Green port, you will disable it (and thus it will appear Blue) If you clickon a Blue port, you will enable it (and thus it will appear Green) The Orange port will bring you to a SSH console of the switch. From there, you can use any command to check or to modify configuration. You can click on the Virtual Machine desktop in order to magnify it. Now for the demo, the purpose is to show the convergence speed of ERP. By default, all port are administratively up and some of them are operationnaly down dyue to ERP (so called RPL) If you disable one green port, you should see that the RPL port became immediately forwarding, and you should see a minimum lost of ping (there 1 ping every 20ms and ERP has a convergence time of about 50 ms) When you re-enable a disable port, there’s a time-to-restore value of 1mn to bring it forwarding and to block again the previous RPL. At this moment, again you should a minimum packet lost. The network is fully managed from OVCirrus. From the link at the top of the window, you will get access to this OV Cirrus. You can log in with account hotel-mgr / (second char is a zero) Note : to interact with the client VM, simply click on it to open it in full screen, you can now start/stop the ping from the application. For the first time you connect to the demo, the client may appear as black square, simply click on it and close the resulting window to get the desktop.

10 Stellar + OV Cirrus

11 Stellar + OV Cirrus This is the main screen of the Stellar + OV Cirrus Demo It shows you a windows 10 wifi client able to connect to 2 SSIDs, hotel1 and hotel2. A link a the top of the window allows you to connect to the OV Cirrus. By using the credentials you will have access to all the network (hotel-mgr) or one AP and one omniswitch (hotel1 or hotel2)

12 Stellar + OV Cirrus Hotel1view Hotel mgr view
On OV Cirrus, you have two level of administration : Hotel-Mgr can manage the full network (6 x AOS + 2 x AP Stellar) Hotel 1 can manage 1 x AOS and 1 x AP Stellar Hotel 2 can manage 1 x AOS and 1 x AP Stellar

13 Automatic Remote Configuration

14 Automatic Remote Configuration
This is the main screen for the Automatic Remote Configuration (aka Zero Touch Provisioning) Demo By clicking on the start button, you will factory reset an omniswitch which then start automatically the automatic configuration : Get IP address from DHCP server (the DHCP server config can be dumped by clicking the Show DHCP Config button) Get Instruction file from TFTP server (the Instruction can be dumped by clicking the Show Instruction file button) Get Firmware and boot configuration file from FTP server (the boot config file can be dumped by clicking the Show boot config button)

15 6to4 Tunneling

16 6to4 Tunneling This is the main screen for the 6to4 tunneling Demo
From there you can show how pure IPv6 client can communicate across IPv4 only network. You have access to 2 ipv6 linux client console from where you can dump ip configuration (ifconfig) and make some connectivity test (ping, traceroute…) You can also connect to the two edge switches console to dump configuration how ipv6 tunneling is managed

17 BGP MED and Local Preference

18 BGP MED and Local Preference
This is the main screen of the BGP MED and Local preference From there you can configure Local Preference on you WAN switch to indicate which BGP router will be used to route traffic outside your network By clicking on Modify Local Preference button you will toggle between the two router CORE2 and Core3 The equivalent is available by configuring MED to indicate to external router which path is the best to reach your internal network By clicking on Modify Med, you will toggle between the two router CORE2 and Core3 You can access the two router console to check configuration by clicking on Core2 console and core3 console, you can also simply dump the routing table by clicking on Show Core2 Routing table and Show Core3 routing table. You can access the external router management by clicking Ext. Router admin Finally you can open consoles on both internal and external client to make connectivity test like traceroute,

19 QinQ / VLAN Stacking

20 QinQ / VLAN Stacking This is the main screen for the QinQ (VLAN stacking) demo From there you can access edge switch console to dump configuration and check how services are managed to encapsulate client vlan into service vlan You also have access to 4 clients, two are connected on vlan 420 but on different switches interconnected with service vlan and two other on vlan 430. A router exist between this two vlan 420 and 430 on switch Edge 2
